- IEEE Computer invites papers for a theme issue on Managing Object-Oriented
- Software Development Projects. The theme issue focuses on effective
- transition and development planning, staffing, organizing the project,
- effective project tracking and control. Case studies and research results
- describing the managerial perspectives of transitioning and managing OO
- software projects are desired. We are looking for submissions to address
- the following critical issues and questions in the OO field

- 1. Are there success stories? How to maximize the benefits of these stories
- 2. What are the dangers of OO Development? How to avoid them
- 3. How to manage OO projects through software processes.
- 4. What are the major risks of applying the OO technology for the first time?
- 5. What is different about managing OO software projects?
- 6. What are the key management concerns when managing an OO projects
- 7. How to deal with legacy systems, training, changing the culture, risk
- areas of OO technology, verification and validation, and documentation
- of OO systems
- 8. How to use size and cost estimation techniques to determine staff and
- resource requirements for OO software development projects

- The deadline for papers is January 8, 1996. Authors will be notified in
- March 1996; the theme issue will appear in September 1996. To submit a
